Disability Awareness Training

There is a growing demand for individuals and organisations within education, health and social care settings, to not just be aware of disability but understand and incorporate this learning into day-to-day practice.

We believe that the key to developing better practices is education, combined with open, honest discussions - discussions that not only act as a catalyst for change, but can provide a deeper understanding of disability. We aim to provide the knowledge and insight into the perspectives of individuals with disabilities and that of the practitioners that provide support or intervention: a meeting of the two worlds.

Our training focuses on the knowledge and understanding of the self and the importance of the transactional relationship in creating or removing barriers to disability.

Are you asking these questions about disability?

  • What is disability?
  • What is the best way to support a person with a disability diagnosis?
  • What is a reasonable adjustment?
  • How can we make our service more inclusive of disability?
  • What am I doing wrong?
  • When I try to help, why does it seem to hinder?
  • How can I develop my practice?

Then STUBs disability awareness training may be for YOU!
